The name says it all, the beautiful daughter of veteran actor R. Sarath Kumar set to sizzle the silver screens.

Varalaxmi has signed her first movie titled Poda Podi. As the name suggests it is a romantic comedy in which she will be seen romancing the multi-talented Simbu of Dum and Manmadhan fame.

A graceful dancer in real life, she will be seen playing the role of a Salsa dancer in her debut movie as well. The director of the movie Vignesh Sinha was searching for dancers to play the key roles in his movie. The director’s search finally ended with the casting of Simbhu and Varalaxmi – a zealous dancer for the past 10 years.

As Varalaxmi does the role of a dancer and Simbhu is also a great dancer, the movie is obviously full of dance and song sequences. Varalaxmi, a graduate in Microbiology who also has a MBA from UK’s Edinburgh University, told our sources that the movie is loaded with songs, dances, comedy and romantic scenes.

The vivacious newcomer has already started practicing with Simbhu – who reportedly easily got a hang of the dance form.

The shoot for the movie is scheduled to start from the first week of June. The movie is set to be shot in London.
