Nayantara, who started out with the girl-next-door image and transformed into a glam queen in Tamil movies is back to Malayalam films. The actress is very excited about her upcoming Malayalam film, Electra.
Directed by filmmaker Shyamprasad, Electra will be an offbeat film for Nayantara. She reveals that she is doing the film for her own creative satisfaction. She is excited about exploring a new genre as in most films actresses are confined to dancing around trees. She believes actresses need to have more of a role than just being glam props in big films or else they are deprived of the opportunity to show their versatility.
The actress spoke about rejecting big offers in Telugu films. She clarifies that her reasons for doing so were purely because she had allotted more dates to a Kannada film. On being asked about Bollywood, she states that she is a well-established actress in the Southern film industry so she doesn’t feel the need to act in Bollywood.
After a modeling stint, Nayantara got into acting. After acting with top stars in Malayalam, she came to Kollywood with Ayya. Soon followed the milestone film Chandramukhi.
