John, who is also called Johnny Rotten, says that he was all the time unhappy with the ‘twee’ moniker. He says that he was never fond of the ‘Sex Pistols’ moniker and found it really strange.

However, in spite of his discontent, he thinks it always could have been worse. He says that if it was up to his band’s former bassist Glen, then the band might just be called Milky Bar Kids.

John lately exposed the fact that he was approached to work together with the popular animated band Gorillaz. He was asked to work with the band on their forthcoming album called ‘Plastic Beach’. John however did turn down the request.
